Polymerfiltration

In order to meet the high purity requirements of foils and fibres and in order to ensure failure-free processes of spinning and extrusion systems, the polymer melt which is needed for the manufacturing of such products is being pressed through accordingly suitable filters. For this purpose several layers of disc filters are used. Besides the cleaning, these filters effect the homogenization of the melting as well as the fragmentation of inclusions, e.g. gel particles.

Due to the operating temperature and the required strength, sinter metal filters made of SIPERM® R are ideal for the filtration of polymer melts.
